- אִסְטְמָאm. 1) (Ispe. noun of אסם = חסם, v. חִיסּוּם, the h. equiv. of our w.) forging steel, steel-edge. Ber.62b כא׳ לפרזלא (Ms. M. אסטימא read אִסְטוּמָא, Ms. O. סטומא, Var. אִצְ׳, אִיצְ׳) what the steel edge is to the iron. 2) frontlet, v. אִיסְטְמָא. 3) a word in a charm formula.
